Starting at Pisa Centrale: Exit the train station and head straight onto Piazza della Stazione. This square is busy, often bustling with locals and tourists. Cross the square and continue straight onto Via Cesare Battisti.

Via Cesare Battisti to Corso Italia: Follow Via Cesare Battisti until you reach the main shopping street, Corso Italia. This lively pedestrian-friendly street is lined with various shops, cafes, and restaurants, perfect for a quick coffee or gelato if you want to take a break. Continue along Corso Italia as it leads you northward toward the city center.

Crossing the Arno River: At the end of Corso Italia, you’ll reach Ponte di Mezzo, a bridge that crosses the Arno River. Pause here for a moment to enjoy the view of Pisa's colorful buildings lining the riverbanks. Cross the bridge to enter the northern part of the city.

Piazza Garibaldi to Borgo Stretto: After crossing the bridge, you'll find yourself in Piazza Garibaldi. Turn right onto Borgo Stretto, a charming, narrow street with arcades, historic buildings, and more shops and cafes. This street has a more medieval feel, with its narrow alleys and cobblestones.

Via Ulisse Dini to Piazza dei Cavalieri: As you walk along Borgo Stretto, take a slight left onto Via Ulisse Dini, which will lead you to Piazza dei Cavalieri, one of Pisa's most beautiful squares. This square is surrounded by impressive buildings, including the Palazzo della Carovana and the Church of Santo Stefano dei Cavalieri.

Approaching the Leaning Tower: Continue walking on Via Santa Maria from Piazza dei Cavalieri. This street will lead you directly to Piazza del Duomo, where the Leaning Tower of Pisa is located. As you approach, you'll start to see the iconic structure peeking out from behind the buildings.

Arrival at Piazza del Duomo: Finally, you’ll reach Piazza del Duomo, also known as Piazza dei Miracoli, where the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral (Duomo), the Baptistery, and the Camposanto are situated. The Leaning Tower stands prominently on the lawn, drawing visitors from all over the world.

The walk takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on your pace and how often you stop to take in the sights. It's a straightforward route that provides a delightful introduction to Pisa, with opportunities to enjoy the city's atmosphere along the way.
